Frederick Douglass once said, “I recognize the Republican party as the sheet anchor of the colored man’s political hopes and the ark of his safety.” Louisville Republicans are out to prove Douglass correct!
On Thursday, February 20th, the Jefferson County Republican Party purchased a half page advertisement in the historic “Louisville Defender” newspaper in West Louisville. On the same day, Chairman Nathan Haney also announced that the County GOP Executive Committee will soon hit the road to say: “Finally, the party of Lincoln is listening. You do have a choice!”
With committee meetings scheduled in both South & West Louisville, Haney shared: “We want to be a part of each community. We want to help be a stable anchor and a community leader in each neighborhood. To do this, we have to reach out and respect differences in opinion but also give the voters alternatives to what they have had in the past. We won’t win overnight in some areas, but we will win trust by making sure the people know we are there and we are listening.”
Again we ask, can the Louisville GOP win West Louisville? Read our previous story by clicking here!
